Frequently Asked Questions

The Halio RegenBoost is a full-body red and near-infrared light therapy panel designed for everyday recovery and long-term wellness.

Red and near-infrared light therapy has been extensively studied for its effects on the human body. Regular use may help with:

· Muscle recovery after exercise and physical activity
· Relief from muscle tension, stiffness, and joint discomfort
· Improved circulation and oxygen delivery to tissues
· Skin health, tone, and radiance
· Reduced inflammation and faster tissue repair
· Mitochondrial function and cellular energy (ATP) production
· Bone density support
· Hair growth and scalp health
· Mood and energy levels
· Sleep quality support

The RegenBoost uses TriSpectrum Technology in its Regen Boost mode, combining three wavelengths (660nm Red Light, 850nm Near-Infrared, and 1072nm Deep Near-Infrared) for a comprehensive session. It also offers two additional modes: Glow Boost for skin-focused treatment, and Recover Boost for targeted muscle and joint recovery.

Individual results may vary. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

TriSpectrum Technology is the combination of three wavelengths used in the Halio RegenBoost's Regen Boost mode and it's what makes that mode the most comprehensive option on the device.

It combines:
· 660nm Red Light, targets the surface layers of the skin to support skin health, texture, and radiance
· 850nm Near-Infrared (NIR) Light penetrates into deeper tissues including muscle and connective tissue, supporting circulation and recovery
· 1072nm Deep Near-Infrared (DNIR) Light reaches the deepest tissue layers, supporting cellular regeneration and recovery at a structural level

The Glow Boost and Recover Boost modes use selected wavelengths suited to their specific purpose, but do not use all three together. Regen Boost is the only mode that activates the full TriSpectrum combination.

The three wavelengths in the Halio RegenBoost each penetrate to a different depth in the body, which is why combining them gives a more complete treatment.

660nm Red Light
Absorbed primarily at the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin. At this depth, red light supports skin cell renewal, collagen production, skin texture, and surface radiance. This wavelength is what makes the Glow Boost mode effective for skin health.

850nm Near-Infrared (NIR) Light
Penetrates past the epidermis into the dermis and underlying soft tissue, reaching muscles, tendons, and blood vessels. At this depth, NIR supports circulation, reduces inflammation, and aids in muscle and tissue recovery.

1072nm Deep Near-Infrared (DNIR) Light
The deepest-reaching wavelength in the device, penetrating into muscle, bone, and deep connective tissue. At this depth, DNIR supports mitochondrial function, cellular regeneration, and structural recovery, particularly useful for deeper joint discomfort and longer-term tissue repair.

The Halio RegenBoost has three modes, each designed for a different goal.

Glow Boost
Uses red light wavelengths to support skin health at the surface level. Use this when your focus is on skin radiance, texture, tone, and overall skin vitality. Good for dedicated skin sessions on the face, décolletage, or anywhere you want to support skin renewal.

Recover Boost
Focuses on tissue recovery and muscle wellness. Use this after physical activity, or when dealing with muscle fatigue, stiffness, or joint discomfort. This mode targets the deeper layers where circulation and tissue repair happen.

Regen Boost
The most comprehensive mode, activating the full TriSpectrum Technology (660nm + 850nm + 1072nm). Use this for full-body recovery sessions that address surface skin, deep tissue, and cellular-level regeneration at the same time. This is the mode that delivers the deepest benefits of near-infrared light, including mitochondrial support, bone and joint health, and comprehensive recovery.

Using the Halio RegenBoost is straightforward:

1. Turn on the device and select your mode (Glow Boost, Recover Boost, or Regen Boost)
2. Position the device approximately 3 to 8 inches (8 to 20 cm) from the treatment area
3. Relax while the session runs, no effort needed on your part
4. The device will automatically shut off when the session is complete
5. Reposition to any other area of the body you want to treat and repeat

The device comes with a built-in stand so you can set it down and treat hands-free, useful for targeting larger areas like the back, legs, or torso without holding it throughout.

The recommended distance is approximately 3 to 8 inches (8 to 20 cm) from the treatment area, but pressing the device directly against the skin is also fine and effective.

At a distance:
· 3 to 4 inches (8 to 10 cm) for more focused delivery on a specific joint or muscle
· 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) for broader coverage on larger areas

Direct contact:
Resting or placing the panel directly on the skin is safe and can be comfortable for areas like the lower back, thighs, or arms. There is no need to hold it elevated if direct contact is more practical for the area you are treating.

Use whichever feels most comfortable and practical for the area you are treating.

For best results, use the Halio RegenBoost once daily for up to 10 minutes per treatment area.

If you want to treat multiple areas in one session, simply move the device and repeat, there is no limit to the number of areas you can treat in a day. However, leave at least 6 hours before retreating the same area again.

Light therapy works with your body's natural cellular response cycle, and that recovery process needs a little time between sessions on the same spot. Consistency over weeks and months is where the real cumulative benefits build.

Yes, the Halio RegenBoost can be used on the face for skin radiance and texture support, the Glow Boost mode is well suited for this.

When using on or near the face, protective eyewear is required. Do not look directly into the LEDs during operation.

For other body areas (muscles, joints, limbs), protective eyewear is not generally required. If you have sensitive eyes or are treating the scalp or upper chest area, wearing eyewear is recommended as a precaution.

For best results, use the device directly on bare skin or with only a thin layer of clothing between the device and the treatment area.

Thick clothing, blankets, or other materials can block or reduce light penetration. Since the light needs to reach the tissue to be effective, removing barriers gives you a noticeably better session.

If bare skin is not practical, for example when treating the back or larger areas, lightweight, light-coloured clothing is generally fine, though bare skin will always be more effective.

Under typical use (one 10-minute session per day), a full charge provides up to 12 days of use.

The number of sessions per charge may vary slightly depending on which mode you use, as the three-wavelength Regen Boost mode draws more power than single-wavelength modes.

Charge the device fully before first use. When the battery indicator shows it is running low, recharge before your next session to maintain consistent light output throughout the treatment.

With regular use, the Halio RegenBoost supports a wide range of wellness and recovery outcomes:

· Faster muscle recovery after exercise and physical activity
· Reduced muscle tension, fatigue, and stiffness
· Eased joint discomfort and improved mobility
· Better circulation and oxygen delivery to tissues
· Reduced inflammation
· Improved skin tone, texture, and radiance
· Mitochondrial function and cellular energy (ATP) support
· Bone density support with consistent long-term use
· Scalp health and hair growth support (red light wavelengths)
· Improved mood and energy levels
· Sleep quality support

Results vary by individual and build over consistent use. For skin and surface benefits, most users notice changes within a few weeks. Deeper recovery and cellular benefits tend to develop over a longer period of regular use.

Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

Yes. While the Halio RegenBoost is primarily designed for full-body recovery and wellness, the Glow Boost and Regen Boost modes use red light wavelengths that are supported by research on photobiomodulation and hair health.

Studies suggest that red light at the right wavelength can:
· Stimulate cellular energy production (ATP) within hair follicles
· Encourage dormant follicles to re-enter the active growth phase
· Support microcirculation around the scalp
· Create a healthier scalp environment by supporting normal cellular function

Regular use may help support the appearance of fuller, healthier hair and overall scalp wellness.

Individual results vary. The Halio RegenBoost is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent hair loss conditions.

The Halio RegenBoost is suitable for most adults, but avoid use if you:

· Are sensitive to light
· Are taking medications that increase sensitivity to light (photosensitising medications)
· Have a medical condition that may be affected by light exposure
· Are pregnant
· Are currently undergoing medical treatment for a serious condition

If any of the above apply to you, speak with your healthcare professional before use.

When using on the face, always wear protective eyewear and avoid looking directly into the LEDs.

For the complete list of precautions, refer to the user manual included with your device.

Protective eyewear is required when using the Halio RegenBoost on or near the face. Do not look directly into the LEDs at any point during operation.

For other body areas (arms, legs, torso, joints), eyewear is not generally required. If you have sensitive eyes or are treating areas near the face or neck, wearing eyewear is the safer choice.

If goggles are not included in your device box, any basic UV/light-blocking protective eyewear is suitable.

The Halio RegenBoost is light-based, not topical, so it works well alongside most skincare routines. That said, there are a few things worth keeping in mind:

Use with caution or avoid at the same time:
· Retinol and retinoids, these make skin more light-sensitive. If you use retinol, do your RegenBoost session at a different time of day, or apply retinol after rather than before
· High-concentration vitamin C serums, can be mildly photosensitising; apply after your session, not before
· Strong AHAs and BHAs (glycolic acid, salicylic acid), avoid applying immediately before a session on the face; these can increase skin sensitivity
· Photosensitising medications if you are on any medication that increases sensitivity to light, consult your doctor before use

Generally fine to combine with:
· Hydrating serums (hyaluronic acid, peptides, niacinamide), apply after your session
· Moisturiser and SPF, apply after
· Standard body care products as long as the treated area is clean and dry before the session

For body and muscle use, standard skincare layering is not typically a concern. The main precautions above apply primarily to face and skin-focused treatments.

Yes. Red and near-infrared light therapy is non-invasive and does not cause burns, tanning, or UV-related skin damage. The Halio RegenBoost does not emit UV light.

It is generally well-tolerated across all skin tones and types, including sensitive skin.

If you are on photosensitising medications or have a known light sensitivity condition, consult your doctor before use.

To keep the Halio RegenBoost working at its best:

· Wipe the panel surface with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth after each use
· Do not submerge the device in water
· Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, these can damage the LED lens

Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use, and keep the charging port free from dust and moisture.

To charge the Halio RegenBoost:

1. Connect the included Type-C cable to the charging port on the device
2. Plug the other end into the included adapter and connect to a suitable power outlet
3. The battery indicator will blink slowly while charging
4. When the indicator shows a solid light, the device is fully charged

A full charge takes up to 4 hours and provides up to 12 days of typical use (one 10-minute session per day).

Always unplug the device before use, it will not operate while connected to a power outlet. We recommend charging fully before your first session.

The Halio RegenBoost is designed for portable, everyday use at home, in the gym, or while travelling.

It comes with a travel pouch to keep the device and accessories together and protected when not in use, easy to pack and carry.

For air travel: as with any device containing a lithium battery, always pack the RegenBoost in your carry-on luggage, not in checked baggage.

The Halio RegenBoost is for anyone who wants to invest in their body's recovery, resilience, and longevity, not just manage symptoms when something goes wrong.

It works well for:

· Active individuals and athletes recovering from training and physical activity
· Anyone dealing with recurring muscle tension, stiffness, or joint discomfort
· People looking to support circulation, energy, and physical wellness as part of a daily routine
· Those interested in the long-term benefits of red and near-infrared light therapy for longevity and healthy ageing
· Skin-conscious users who want to extend light therapy beyond the face to support full-body skin health
· Anyone who wants a clinic-quality light therapy tool they can use at home, on their own schedule

The three modes mean the device adapts to your day: skin focus with Glow Boost, muscle and joint recovery with Recover Boost, or a comprehensive full-body session with Regen Boost.

The three Halio devices each do something different, so the right one depends on what you are trying to achieve.

If you want targeted facial treatment, reducing fine lines, firming the jawline, depuffing the eye area, or boosting how well your skincare absorbs, the Halio Red Light Therapy Device (the wand) is best. It is a precision handheld tool that combines red light, EMS, sonic vibration, and gentle warmth so you can focus treatment exactly where you want it, zone by zone.

If you want hands-free full-face coverage, treating the whole face at once for skin rejuvenation, acne, uneven tone, and dullness, the Halio PureGlow Ultralite Silicone LED Face Mask is the right choice. It delivers four light wavelengths across the entire face in a single 10-minute hands-free session.

If you are looking for full-body recovery, deeper tissue repair, joint and muscle support, or a comprehensive wellness and longevity routine, the Halio RegenBoost panel is what you need. It covers large areas of the body, penetrates to deeper tissue layers than a wand can, and includes the Regen Boost mode for full-spectrum near-infrared treatment.

Many people use more than one, the wand or mask for the face, and the RegenBoost for everything else.

How Long Does It Take to See Results From an LED Face Mask?

by Eva Kopatschek on Mar 07 2026
Most people see early changes from an LED face mask in 2 to 4 weeks, with calmer skin, less redness, and a subtle glow. Visible anti-aging results like firmer skin and reduced fine lines typically appear at 8 to 12 weeks of consistent use, 3 to 5 sessions per week. The timeline depends on the skin concern, the device's wavelength and irradiance, and how consistently it is used

Can You Use an LED Mask With Retinol or Vitamin C? The Sequencing Guide

by Rofi Uddin on Feb 27 2026
This is one of the most searched questions in LED skincare, and most answers stop at "LED first, retinol after." That is correct, but incomplete. If your routine includes prescription tretinoin, L-ascorbic acid, AHAs, niacinamide, peptides, and hyaluronic acid, you need the full sequencing picture, not a two-step answer.
